True Love

Things changed suddenly after that April fool prank he played to her. He was upset with her and so is she but for different reasons which they both were unaware of. Things sorted out after a while and he was sad when he had to promise her something he doesn’t want to. But destiny was planning something else and hence couples of days later, his feelings were at its zenith when he came to know that she too feels something for him. That moment was completely exciting and equally surprising for him and why it should not be, after all, all this was happening for the very first time to him.
And finally, one fine evening, she confessed everything to him and then he came to realize what he missed of her for he didn’t know this part of her. She has been great all the time. Although she accused herself of being selfish, mean and as someone who took advantage of him to help herself distracted from something unwanted that happened to her but deep down in his heart, he knew that she is not this way, not at all. How can such a sacrificial soul be mean and selfish? No way. After feeling a lot of guilt, she asked him to forget loving her and ensured him the same from her side. He was sad again but this time not for himself but for her. Why she had to endure so much that she didn’t deserve to? May be it was her past birth mistakes that she is paying for but one thing is very sure that she had made her coming future very secure with her good deeds in this birth.
She sacrificed herself and still doing the same for something that in today’s world, very few are aware of – true love, love of a daughter.

On 27th Dec'18 night, laid on my bed waiting for sleep to get consumed in my head, eyes to follow, I was thinking about her, or better call it, her birthday which was about to happen  exactly 30 days later when the people would be busy posting their love for the country. Indeed she was going to be 26 on this coming 26th.  "Let's surprise her being at her place on her birthday, so book the tickets" - I ordered to myself.  Signed in to IRCTC and booked the ticket -  Waiting list WL #48 I got. "Aah its been a month, surely it will get confirmed." Minutes later I slept as if a war has been won. Few days passed and I checked the current status - the number reduced slightly. Now with every passing day, my checking frequency increased exponentially. The waiting list number was started appearing in a single digit and the chart preparation was still a couple of hours away . How privileged I am... that I have not been diagnosed with this virus "Corona"- an uninvited guest, that I have all the access to PPE's & to the doctors doing their best. that I didn't get stuck somewhere far away or at some remote location, that I am able to spend quality time with my family like any other vacation. How privileged I am... that I am not those migrants who have to walk miles in scorching heat to reach their home, that I have been watching web series all day, turning my AC ON. that still I am employed and my salary is being credited before the month ends, unlike those who lost their jobs and nowhere to go, everytime the economy bends. 09/05/2020  वो 16  मजदूर नहीं थे, 16 मजबूर थे | भूख के मारे थे , पैसे की किल्लत थी और अपनों से दूर थे || सब्र दिखाया था उन्होंने, सरकार घर पहुंचाएगी उनको | तभी तो अब तक के सारे इंतज़ार, उनको मंजूर थे || लेकिन कब तक रुकते, कब तक रोते, चल दिए पैदल ही | अभी तो 40 km ही चले थे, मंजिल से बेहद दूर थे || सोचा पटरी के रास्ते ही चले जायेंगे ताकि पुलिस से बच सकें | "रेल मिलेगी तो पकड़ लेंगे" - आँखों में ख्याबों के ऐसे नूर थे | थक गए तो बैठ लिए पटरी पर और आँख लग गयी | पैरों के दर्द और छालों के कुसूर थे || रेलगाड़ी आयी भी, और सब अपने घर भी गए | लेकिन साबुत कोई न बचा, सब के सब चकनाचूर थे || किसको परवाह थी ऐसे मजदूरों की | हम सब तो अपने आप में मगरूर थे || हमारे बीच तो 1 मीटर का ही फासला था, घर तो उनके मीलों दूर थे | वो केवल 16 मजदूर नहीं थे साहब, वो तो लाखों में ऐसे 16 मजबूर थे || May their souls rest in peace.....                        (Victims of Aurangabad train...
