OBT, Pushkar - worth remembering....

Hello everyone !!

I am going to share my experience of an Outbound Training (OBT) planned by my company. MSIL-Thanks for that.

20 Feb'19 night, we all 24 employees boarded the bus. I already knew 3-4 people over there while all others faces were completely new to me. There were four girls in our group, only known by faces then, rest others not even by faces though. So the journey had been started for Pushkar where the training was planned.

As always happened, initially there were many groups among us - some are of 2-3 people chit-chats group, some of solo souls with earphones plugged on, very few with book in hand while rest with sleep mode on. So it was going that way and we reached the destination early morning with a couple of tea breaks during the journey.

We were not aware of the fact that a beautiful resort was waiting for us to welcome. It was calm, serene and peaceful. You can see for yourself.

After taking rest for couple of hours, we gathered for training session in conference hall. Now this is the point where the actual journey begins. A journey of fun, joy and lots of excitement.

As a part of the session, we were asked to inflate a balloon as much as possible and then save it from others as if they were " bhakts of karni sena" targeting audience of Padmavat. (Survival of the fittest is definitely applicable here).

With it, we moved for our next activity and with each activity we started knowing more and more about everyone. Needless to say that some bondings were growing deeper and stronger.

In between the activities we got to know the trainer's feedback. I must say he was simply awesome unlike the one targeting only completion of his course. He was so cool that everyone enjoyed his company without looking at the watch. He shared the learning in the form of stories which were so engaging and eye-opening as well. I especially loved the one about the rabbit catchers (can't share the story here, will share if anyone is interested. Do let me know).

Glimpse of some activities :

At around 5.30 pm, we were free from training session. I had to mention that I had done my homework regarding must see places in Pushkar whenever got an opportunity. Hence somewhere in my mind it was there that whenever training session was over I would go to visit the very famous "Brahma temple- only of the world". But there is the thing happened right then - hotel swimming pool was made available after cleaning and we were given permission to it. Now a puzzle was started inside my head like what to do now. My mind wanted me to explore new place and to be there at Brahma temple while my heart knew that its going to be a lot of fun being in the pool with the newly made best buddies. It took me around 4 min to calm down my head and reach to the reception for the swimming costume. Later on I didn't regret my decision.

Well the day was over with all those activity stuff but..but..but how one can forget the value of night, where DJ wale babu was waiting for our "kamar tod dance :P ". One thing I definitely know about myself is that I don't need any form of alcohol/weed to get me high rather loud music and DJ floor with a group of friends are more than sufficient. So everything was there and when it ended, I found myself completely drenched with sweat as if I just came out of swimming pool with my clothes on. Memorable !

A winter night in an amazing resort with a group of friends was passed without a bonfire. Digested ?
Nahh !! It was there outside in the garden with everyone around it playing "Antakshari". In those moments you can actually realize that Old is literally gold with every another song is someone's favourite. It kept on going untill 11.00 when we finally decided to let the dreams take over.

Ahh! Next day, an outdoor adventurous activity was planned so we reached that activity place at around 9.30 am. Looking the setup thrilled me for once but we were not supposed to do the tough ones. That's when I felt little sad about it. Nonetheless we have completed not the easiest ones. Three teams were made and the team which was going to take the least time to complete it (one team at a time) was supposed to be the winner. But who cares of winning the task when our whole target was to enjoy every bit of it. Additional perk of loud music over there made the day. Those two hours were worth remembering.

We headed back to the hotel where last activity was planned and no one would have imagined that it was going to be something like orchestra. Yeah !! we were given different kinds of musical instruments and asked to create a music and not noise (with more emphasis on the last word :P) with everyone's participation.

Now what would you expect when you provide these instruments to mechanical engineers and not expecting noise :). I don't know whether A.R Rahman would be ready to hear it but believe me it was very very well executed. No doubt it was noise with very little music, but that noise was of joy. Everyone was so happy as if a child (in every employee) was beating those instruments. Amazing that was !!.Wanna see that ??

Time has come for our departure and we boarded the bus unlike the way we boarded it from Gurgaon.
This time all were familiar faces with most people turned to friends. During those 10 hrs of journey, we didn't want to take rest or sleep. With the same intensity, we lived those moments also. Played familiar games - Antakshari, Dumbcharades, 20 questions, etc. and created new ones - story making & "Bhaag DK Bose" were the epic ones. I must say that I had been in outbound trainings earlier also, but this one was amazing.

During the session closure, we were given a blank paper and asked to share a feedback in whatever way we choose. I simply wrote " Today they seems as just two days passed, tomorrow they are going to be unforgettable memories. Thanks to MSIL, friends, the trainer and every hotel staff for such a good time. "
